Sharks went 0-6-2 in home games this season. First month EVER in franchise history (with so many home games) they’ve gone winless.

Senators are coming off impressive shut out wins over the SoCal hockey teams. Goalie Hammon (aka The Hamburgler) has been impressive in net. Now they’re looking for a hat trick of shutouts (or at least wins) in California against the Sharks.
The Sharks are looking for their first win of the month at home. (0-5-2 home record this month)
And the trade deadline is Monday (noon PT).
Lots of things to be worried about for team teal.

After their outdoor foray, the Sharks had Sunday and Monday off before hitting the ice for practice on Tuesday (emphasis on offense) and Wednesday (defensive focus) before Thursday’s game.
Meanwhile, the Wings have been in California, playing the Ducks Monday (lost 3-4 in SO) and the Kings Tuesday (lost 0-1). Captain Zetterberg was injured and did not play Monday nor Tuesday (head injury, possible concussion). Wings had the day off on Wednesday (enjoying the California weather).
This is the 1,800th regular season game in Sharks history. (And today is Barclay Goodrow’s birthday.)
Sharks announce that Torres is out for season after (finally) having ACL surgery; delay to ensure no infection. Should be ready for training camp.
Wings indicate that Zetterberg and Quincey still out.

And led by two goals from Desjardins, the Sharks scored 5 goals to the Stars 2 and are holding onto the 2nd wild card spot, two points ahead of the Kings.
But in many ways, it’s time to forget Thursday’s game and then focus through the hype of Saturday’s game. It’s a lot more important than just playing for a lot of fans.

And before they even drop the puck, the Sharks are worse off than when the finished the game Tuesday, as they are now hanging on to the last wild card spot (with other teams having games in hand).
The Sharks managed to get out of Nashville before the weather turned even worse (but it did strand Matt Tennyson who was trying to get back to Worcester).
Now, the Sharks face the Dallas Stars. In a recent game, the Stars lost two of their key players to injury, including Seguin. The Stars have two games in hand and are four points behind the Sharks, so a loss could be providing even more pressure on the Sharks playoff hopes. (Former Shark Travis Moen was put on IR Wednesday.)
This will be the first time Dillon and Demers will face their old team since the trade.
