The Barracuda take on the Reign in back-to-back/home-and-away games:  Friday in Ontario, Saturday evening in San Jose.

Raffi has been ruled out for Friday’s game.  Ben Smith cleared waivers (Thursday) and was officially announced as assigned on Friday.

The Barracuda got out to a two-goal lead in the first, and held on until the third, with Dell making some great saves.  But some bad penalties let the Reign tie it up in the third, and win it early in OT.

Barracuda start out on a seven game road trip.  This week, it’s three games in SoCal, starting with the Reign on Wednesday, and the Gulls on Friday and Saturday.

The Sharks recalled Karlsson, Goldobin and Mueller (for their 6-game road trip).

The Reign came out and scored two on Dell in the first. The Barracuda halved the deficit in the second, but even with an extended 5-on-3 PP, they were not able to tie it up before the end of regulation.

The Barracuda had more than a week off.  Mueller, Lerg and McCarthy returned from NHL.  Helewka, 2015 draft pick, returned to his WHL team for the season.  Mueller was recalled for Sharks 10/28 game and returned.  Lerg and DeMelo were called up 10/30 for Sharks weekend games.  Karlsson has missed a few days of practice, continuing to heal up from training camp injury.

The Barracuda are still looking for their first win on home ice.

The Reign are coming off a 1-2 OTL home loss Saturday against the Rampage.  So the Barracuda will have the benefit of being the rested team.

And on a Sunday afternoon, the Barracuda finally get their first home win.  Whew.

And Mirco Mueller became the first goal by a Barracuda defenseman this season.

The team has Monday off.  Next game will be Saturday – the first (annual) teddy bear toss.
