Rumpel makes his first AHL start, and makes 24 saves in his first AHL win. Emmanuelsson notched two goals; McCarthy and Morin had the others.
Neither team had a power play goal.

Bakersfield comes to town for a pair of weekend games.
DeMelo and Dell are back with the Barracuda after recent recalls; Pinkston has been assigned to ECHL Allen. Rumpel is still in San Jose and expected to get a start this weekend. Morin looking to prove his worth in his time with the Barracuda.
Radio pxp Lindquist is out for 9 games due to family emergency. This weekend former ECHL Bulls radio voice Jason Lockhart will have the call.

Dell got the start, but could not keep the Condors from feeding the net three times. Barracuda could only get two.
Barracuda continue their road trip in Bakersfield.
Goodrow was recalled (for injured Wingels) on Sunday, but sent down before playing due to acquisition of Polak and Spaling via trade. Torres was involved in that trade, but remains with Barracuda (now property of NHL Toronto); but his future with the Barracuda (on the ice) is unclear. UPDATE: Torres shuts it down for season.
Goldobin is on a 17-game goaless drought, but he is on a 6-game point streak; meanwhile Trevor Parkes is an under appreciated player. Nabokov is having a great time staying with hockey in his post-playing career by mentoring and coaching the Barracuda goalies; they have benefited from having a dedicated coach to work with this season.

After two goals Saturday, Smith notched another two on Sunday. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the Condors, losing 2-4. Big lack of energy from both teams.
Back from the midwest, the Barracuda are looking for an afternoon win to allow Sommer to tie the AHL record for wins.

Condors have added Zack Kassian (acquired in trade) and Nikita Nikitin to their roster recently. Both players looking to prove something to the organization (and themselves) to get back to the NHL.
Condors are having a Minions giveaway on Saturday.
Barracuda are 2-1-0-1 against the Condors so far this season.
Cundari (and Team Canada) won the Spengler Cup 12/31. Not sure when he’ll be back in the lineup for the Barracuda. (Perhaps not Saturday, nor Sunday; more likely by Wednesday?)

Cuda notch first win of the season in the shootout. Langlois was the only shooter to score in the 7th round of the shootout.
Barracuda look to get a home win streak going, and get above 0.500 for the season.
Game start is about 18 hours after last night’s start. So here’s hoping that the boys got a good night’s sleep and refueled well. Condors had their last game 18 hours apart as well, and they had to travel.

Defense was not on display Saturday.
While the Condors struck first, the Barracuda notched four goals in the first to send starter Scrivens to the bench in the second.
But the Condors came back to tie it at 4-4; and then 5-5 and finally 6-6.
And 23 seconds into OT, Goodrow completed his hat trick and the Barracuda have a home win streak.
Boys get a couple of days off and have a number of days to practice before another Barracuda-Sharks double header next Saturday.

Boys had the day off Sunday after returning from San Diego. With an optional practice on Monday, and full practice on Tuesday, with newly arrived Mike Aviani (ECHL Florida) and the three from ECHL Allen. They’re heading to Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon and spending the night to be ready for their morning game. Parkes, with 41 stitches (inside and out) skating with jaw protection.

Dell in net. Lerg scored the only ‘Cuda goal in regulation in the third, after the Condors took a 1st period lead. Nothing was decided in OT. No Barracuda player was able to score in the shootout.
So, the team extends their point streak, but end their win streak at two.
Barracuda got on the bus to central California to face the affiliate of the NHL Edmonton Oilers, the Bakersfield Condors.

Some crazy non-goals and goals (that perhaps should have been the other way ’round), but the Cuda prevail 4-3 in regulation. Haley had two goals (named #1 SOTG), Dell made 30 saves.
